The Michael Onu’s Annual Scholarship for African American Students

We all know that in today’s economy it is difficult to put together funds to attend colleges and further your education. Indeed scraping together funds to pay for tuition alone can be a huge burden and make one wish for relief.
We understand, but we believe in your potential, and your desire to be one of value in the society. We also believe and hope that you would return home (Africa) to add to its development. That is why we offering a $500 grand prize scholarship to care for whatever needs you might have. We believe that such funds coupled with others you may acquire through other scholarship can help provide some relief.

Eligibility
1. The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited university or college located in the United States;
2. Applicant must be of an African Decent.
3. Graduating High School Seniors with the GPA of 3.0 or Above are also Eligible to apply for the Scholarship.

How to Apply
Write and submit an essay of 300+ words on why you consider it important to use whatever knowledge and skill you may have been educated on to develop your country, and how you would go about doing this.
Out of the pool of applicants we will choose two finalists. The winners would be contacted through phone or email on the same details that they have provided while applying the scholarship. We will then post the two finalists’ essays on our blog and our social media pages.

Please Note that the scholarship funds would be sent to the finalist through the school financial aid department. Therefore it is imperative that accurate information is provided when requested on being nominated as a winner.

Deadline
Only essays Submitted no later than December 30th 2017 will be considered.
